My supervision experience & approach

Finding the right supervisor is so important – I am always open to an informal conversation so you can check if working together is right for you.

Personally, I believe that having ongoing good quality ‘external’ supervision has been the reason that I have stayed in the profession for all of this time, through the good, the tough and the middling times. It has also been the reason I have felt able to make both big decisions about jobs, and little but significant changes to make working life better.

I have developed my skills in supervision through the intandem Foundation Supervision Training series. I have also completed a foundation course in Personal Construct Psychology (PCP), and a coaching course specifically focusing on the use of PCP. I use a flexible approach, and I believe it can be helpful to experiment with a combination of tools and techniques within supervision to find the right fit for the person and the situation.

Areas I may be able to help you with include:

  • To navigate the ups and downs of your working life as an SLT
  • To support you to find inspiration and excitement through work
  • If you are feeling stuck or unclear and need a protected space to work things through, with an open minded and non-judgemental, listening ear
  • To take an alternative view and work through a range of options to manage a situation
  • To think about the full picture; you, you and work, you and your career, and you and your home life and work life

I offer face-to-face and online supervision sessions, or a mix of the two depending on what works for you.

I mostly see SLTs for regular ongoing supervision and support however I also offer one off supervision and support sessions to work through a particular situation if this feels appropriate.
