Description of supervision approach:

Throughout my career as a Speech and Language Therapist, I have received and continue to receive outstanding supervision. This experience has consistently made supervision a positive and enjoyable experience and is a major driver for my own professional supervision practice. In my role as Supervisor, I strive to provide a safe, comfortable space which enables supervisees to share their thoughts, reflections, ambitions and uncertainties.

My supervision style includes facilitating each supervisee to prioritise their self-care and to enable them to take time to look at their current and future practice. My approach is to listen and support each individual to process and reflect on the issues they are bringing, ‘think outside the box’ and have the confidence in their own skills and judgements to explore creative solutions. For me, the supervisory relationship is central to working well together. I have been described by former supervisees as supportive, open, facilitative and nurturing.
